WHAT'S
NEW

Mountain
Bluebird Trails has received
a $5,000. Grant from the Liz Claiborne/Art Gothenberg Foundation.
Our request was for $5,000 a year for five years. The Foundation
approves the request one year at a time. The time frame for the
first year is April 1, 2005 until March 31, 2006. In March of
2006, MBT submit a written report to the Foundation on what we have
accomplished based on our proposal and a written request for the following
year's funding and the grant was nenewed. In March 2007 we will
be submitting a request to renew it for the third year.

Mountain Bluebird Trails
has received an $2,500.00 grant from the Montana
Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks .

Map
This map can
be printed off as two pages, which can be put together to form an 11"
x 17" detailed map. Click on here
for Left and/or here for
the Right sides of the map to view a larger version or to print.
"Birding
Hotspots in the Flathead Basin"
which (in spite of the Flathead
Basin name) includes Northwest Montana. It mentions bluebirds and
other species. It also contains a good list of birds to be found and
season and abundance.
Click here for the document .
"Field
Checklist of Montana Birds"
is coming soon. The free
checklist will be available by early May at all FWP regional offices
and the Helena headquarters. Those who can't wait for the printed
copies you can download the checklist by clicking
here to view the 2004 bird list as an Acrobat pdf file. For best
results in printing your own copy, use legal size paper (8 ½ x
14 inches) and change your printer settings to print it in landscape
view.
The Mountain Bluebird Trails areas are now being defined by county rather
than number. The board made this decision at the September board to
clarify it for the members. See Regional
Coordinators listing under contacts on this website and/or the December
2003 issue of Bluebird Tales.
* MBT has
created a speakers bureau to put on programs in Montana and southern
Idaho . If you would like a program in your area contact one of the
volunteers on the Speakers Bureau
.
